When you stay at the Notch, you get more than just a room. All guests have access to our gardens, firepits, and grounds, fully equipped kitchens, fridges, food storage, living room, dining room, library, and wifi. We provide free coffee, tea, sheets, blankets, pillows, bath towels, showers, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lockers. So grab your toothbrush and come on over!
The most unique aspect of the Notch Hostel is our common areas, both inside and outside the building. From our cozy living room and guest kitchen to our firepits and four decks, you’ll have no shortage of places to post up with your map, dinner, or a new friend.
Deluxe private room with private entrance (summer only), en suite bathroom, cozy living room, private deck with lovely view of the backyard and gardens. Queen bed, full-size futon. Second floor.
Priced for double occupancy. Max occupancy four adults; $15 per additional person after two people per night ($5 if less than 18 years of age). No dogs. Usually minimum two-night stay. Apologies—insurance policy does not allow for guest use of the wood stove.
Note: There are two futons in this room, but one of them is a small love seat, only big enough for a small child to sleep on. The other is a full-size futon, suitable for one person or a couple.
Private, sleeps two people. Double bed. Second floor. You can hear Moosilauke Brook babbling (and sometimes rushing!) from across the street. Usually minimum two-night stay on weekends. Dog-friendly room, see dog policy here.
Our four dormitories sleep between 5 and 8 people. Some of these rooms are now only bookable by private parties due to the pandemic. The Pinkham Room is dog friendly; see dog policy here.
Carrigain Cabin is a converted tool shed next to the hostel that can sleep up to four people. The cabin is 100% waterproof, has electricity, outlets, and wifi, and offers a unique lodging experience. There are two mattresses in the loft sleeping area. The cabin is not insulated, heated, or air-conditioned, and is equipped with fans. Bring your own sleeping bag and pillow for this accommodation (and additional sleeping pads if bringing more than two people). The cabin is dog friendly; see dog policy here. *Please note, the sleeping area and mattresses are in the loft, which most dogs cannot access due to the ladder climb. Some guests opt to sleep on the ground floor with their dogs. *Please note: there is no fridge access for cabin guests. Please bring a cooler!
Want to sleep outside while still enjoying the comforts of a warm shower, bathroom facilities, and kitchen space? Try tenting in our backyard! We have five individual fire pits for campers to enjoy, plus a large communal fire pit with chairs. Bring your own tent, sleeping equipment, and camping chairs. You have access to the hostel facilities as part of your stay! *Please note: there is no fridge access for tenters. Please bring a cooler!
