Dog Policy

We are dog friendly and welcome dogs at the Notch! Canine guests are $10/dog/night, you MUST call ahead to reserve as we only allow a certain number of dogs per night at the hostel. You must call or email us directly to reserve a space for your dog.

  • There is a large open crate and dog bed that you can use if staying with your dog in the Pinkham Room, a shared bunk room. If you have a lively dog, crating them at bedtime will help other guests feel more comfortable sharing a room with a dog (and prevents the dog from visiting guests on other bottom bunks in the middle of the night :-)).
  • Please leash your dog while in the hostel.
  • No dogs on beds or furniture.
  • Scoop the poop! We have a pooper scooper and bucket that you can use during your stay.
  • If you leave the hostel, you must bring your dog with you.
  • Owners are responsible for any damage caused by their dog.
  • Dogs who are unsafe or create chronic disturbance will be asked to stay outside (summer) or leave (winter).
  • Please leave your dog in the car during initial check-in.

Minors Policy

Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  If you are bringing a minor under 18 years of age, you are required to book a private room or book an entire bunk room for your party. Children under 8 years of age are not permitted to stay in the hostel.

Many of our rooms are now private, including some bunk rooms, and can only be booked by one party at a time. Masks are required in all common areas. 

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are from 10 pm  – 7 am.

Alcohol Policy

Please drink responsibly. Beer and wine in moderation. No hard alcohol.

Snoring Policy 

If you have a sleep condition such as snoring or sleep apnea that may disturb others, you are required to book a private room unless you use noise mitigation devices.

Group Bookings Policy

Book the hostel for your next group adventure! For groups of 12 or more, contact Serena directly by filling out our contact form with your dates and group number.  30% non-refundable deposit due at time of reservation. Remaining balance due at check-in.

Cancellation Policy

Shared Rooms, Tenting, and Carrigain Cabin: The guest can cancel free of charge until 3 days before arrival. The guest will be charged 30% of the total reservation if they cancel less than 3 days before 4pm check-in. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 24 hours before 4pm check-in. 

Private Rooms: The guest can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival. The guest will be charged 30% of the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 7 days days prior to 4pm check-in. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 24 hours before 4pm check-in. 

Groups of 6 or more: Cancellations must be made 14 days before check-in. The guest will be charged 30% of the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 14 days before check-in. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 4 days before check-in. 

Groups of 12 or more: The guest will be charged 30% of the total price of the reservation if they cancel in the less than 30 days before check-in. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 14 days before check-in
