Mt Pierce, Mt Jackson, and Webster – 2022-07-20
Conditions:
Started cloudy but mostly dry hiking up my pierce. Couldn’t see anything at top. Hiking along the Webster Cliff path past the Mitzpuh Hut it became clearer and finally sunny at top of My Jackson. Jackson was pretty easy except a scramble at the top, which was pretty fun and worthwhile. Going down was more challenging as the path was pretty wet with small streams mixing in with the path
Equipment:
Two water bottles. Used them to climb mt pierce and refilled at Mitzpuh Hut. I didn’t use poles but they would have helped
Trail Maintenance:
The Webster branch of the Webster Crawford Path had a lot of water running through the path even when it wasn’t raining. Crossed some brooks as well but the rocks well placed close enough to avoid getting wet
Parking & Road Access:
Parked at Crawford Depot. Crawford trail is a bit easy to miss, but Google maps showed where it was. Parking lot was 80% full by 9am on Wednesday
Comments:
Great view of presidential range from top of Mt Jackson. Mt Webster view was also nice but didnt compare.
