Mt Isolation – 2020-03-14

Destination: Mt Isolation
Trails: Rocky Branch trail, Engine Hill Bushwack Isolation trail and Davis Path.
Hike Date: 2020-03-14

Conditions:
Trail is well packed down for the most part and easybyo follow. At least 20 people out packing it down today. High temps softening the snow made things tricky in spots. A group of barebooters left some epic post holes. Do not take first major water crossing after bushwack. Stay on the right side of the trail and you can avoid major water crossings. There are many smaller crossings which have snow bridges or can be crossed with rock hopping. Some of the bridges are collapsing so be careful!

Equipment:
Started in microspikes. Switched to snowshoes shortly after starting the bushwack and stayed in them for the rest of the hike.

Trail Maintenance:
Many small trees blocking the trail. Nothing that could not be easily navigated around.

Parking & Road Access:
Parking beautifully plowed

Comments:
None!!! 😊
