The Indian Head Trail was generally in good condition today! There were a few muddy spots where the trail met with Hanson Brook. Right near the summit (just beyond the point where the Indian Head Trail converges with the Mount Pemigewasset Trail), a very small amount of hard-packed snow remained on the trail.
I wore regular running shoes the whole way. No spikes of any kind were needed. The trail can be steep coming down, so a boot with more ankle support could be helpful for hikers who are prone to sliding.
Parking & Road Access:
I biked to the trailhead, which is right off Route 3. The parking lot was fairly small (fits maybe 8 or so cars), but seems very accessible and well-maintained.
Great hike! The trail meanders through the woods, and follows Hanson Brook much of the way. The summit is a large slab of rock with beautiful views.
