Mount Carrigain via Signal Ridge

Signal Ridge as seen from the summit tower on Mount Carrigain.

Title: Mount Carrigain via Signal Ridge.

Date of Hike: Thursday, January 17th 2019.

Trail Conditions: Unbroken snow, Drifted powder.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes, Microspikes.

Comments: The two mile road walk along Sawyer River Road was packed well with snowmobile traffic. Signal Ridge Trail showed signs of previous travel, but the snow was soft, and in many places drifted over. Spikes along the road worked well, and snowshoes were the best option trailhead to trailhead.

Looking out to Webster Cliffs and the unmistakable Presidential Range.

Since Saturday the 17th, the White Mountains have received up to two feet of snow in some locations. Please keep in mind that most of the trail network is now buried under deep snow.
